Disability Support Services
Why do I offer Disability Support Services? Because there is a need for people with an assistance dog to be able to access transport support services where the person offering the service isn’t scared of dogs or worried about pet hair in their car if they are transporting a client with a dog to appointments. I have also found my understanding of body language (a crucial part of communication with non-verbal clients) and thinking outside the box to help a client understand what is need and how to offer help and understanding is an invaluable skill in the Assistance Support Services area.
My disability support service delivers supports to assist a participant engage in community, social and/or recreational activities. We also look at the goals of our NDIS participants and tailor our service to meet their NDIS goals.
Commonly we work on the following –
- improving physical and mental wellbeing through increasing social participation
